About This Dog for Adoption

Louis's ideal home

An affectionate bundle of fun, Louis is always up for a game of tug, fetching his favourite toys or having a splash in a pool. This cutie Old Time Bulldog Cross is just over a year old. He enjoys the company of other dogs and is more than happy to amble along on sniffy walks or have some rough and tumble with his best friends! He has previously lived with another dog and would thrive in a home where there is another pooch to keep him company—especially as he finds it easier to settle when he is not on his own. That said, he could be the only dog in the right home provided his humans are around more often than not, at least to begin with.

Louis has lived with children before and has the potential to live with ages 5 years and up. He has also lived with cats but can be a little too enthusiastic when playing with them so dog savvy cats are a must!

He will need adopters who can manage a strong dog on the lead, and ideally a quieter lifestyle with minimal car travel to start with. A home with a secure garden, some patience, and lots of affection on offer would be just the ticket!

Could you be Louis's perfect match?

Louis is a sweet-natured, people-loving boy who is finding kennel life stressful, but his zest for life still shines through. Once in a loving home, with consistent routine and time to decompress, he is sure to relax and let his lovely personality fully flourish.

He is friendly with everyone he meets, including new staff and visitors, and has been brilliant with harnessing and grooming—initially cautious but quick to trust. He enjoys his fuss and is always up for playtime, whether that is a game of tug, a splash in the water retrieving toys, or a good zoom around the garden. Some of his toys do not last long, but it is all part of the fun for Louis!

Louis is very food- and toy-motivated which makes him great fun to train. Though he is still learning his recall he has aced learning sit, down and paw, his recall is a work in progress. He can pull on lead due to excitement—especially when traffic goes by—so walks in quieter areas will help while this is being worked on. He is still learning his traffic manners (lorries and tractors can be scary) and Louis is not a big fan of car travel just yet. He does shake at the start but settles with time and this could improve once he is more confident in his new surroundings.

A loyal, cheeky, and big-hearted companion, Louis is ready to bring joy and laughter to a family who can support him with structure, play, and plenty of cuddles. Could you be the one to give this brilliant boy his fresh start?

Bulldog Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a English Bulldog.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Bulldog Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
